I had the honor of working as the Senior Producer at STEMedia for over two years. I initially met Dr. Nehemiah Mabry online five years prior as we aligned on values and mission to produce content for the communities we are a part of and did not see featured in science media.

While in graduate school, I joined Dr. Nee and fellow STEM creators to produce a virtual event called the STEM Success Summit. We called ourselves the STEM Avengers, and for four years in a row, we produced a free, three-day professional development summit for young STEM professionals.

After I graduated, Dr. Nee hired me to be a part of STEMedia, where I was:

  • An Executive Producer for two episodic science series for PBS Digital Studios’ Terra YouTube channel: Why Am I Like This & Hungry Planet

  • A Producer for ‘Building Stuff with Nova’—streaming over 100 episodes of an engineering show for PBS NOVA on Twitch and YouTube

  • Event Producer for a cultural game night for NSBE for three years and counting

  • Editor for impactful social videos and assets for the Chan Zuckerberg Institute

  • Producer and editor on the Techinical Creative, an in-house video podcast

Ultimately, I was a Jill of all trades for all the client work we delivered and working on projects aligned to STEMedia's mission on elevating and empowering STEM success.

Through Dr. Nee’s leadership and mentorship, I stepped in to show running, producing, directing, managing projects, clients, and contractors, system organization and operations, and developing projects through proposals, grants, and pitches.
