Jordan Rhodes
Is a fourth-year graduate student in the Macdonald lab at Vanderbilt University. Having worked in the field of nanoscience since his undergraduate years at Rider University under the mentorship of Dr. Feng Chen, his current research focuses on synthesizing earth-abundant nanomaterials with applications in clean energy generation. He is specifically working with iron pyrite (also known as fools gold) which has the potential to be used as a light-activated material in photovoltaics. Jordan published his first paper on how sulfur molecules affect the phase of iron sulfide nanocrystals in the journal Chemical Materials.
When Jordan is not in the lab you can find him playing basketball, watercolor, painting, drawing, and watching movies with his wife.
